An astronaut, Mark Watney, is accidentally left behind on Mars when his fellow crew mates believe he is dead. (They are forced to leave in a hurry due to a strong dust storm.) What follows is his fight for survival. He has very limited supplies and, initially, no one on Earth even knows that he is still alive. Watney, a nerdy engineer/ botanist, decides to keep a log, which allows us to follow from his point of view. I really enjoyed the author's use of humor, and I though he did a good job explaining the science as well. Would definitely recommend this story to anyone that enjoy books about space exploration.
